With the purpose of helping kids fully develop themselves, this camp colltects classes like Arduino, robot, game design, teamwork and design thinking classes etc. On the one hand, it encourages students to be interested intechnology and in getting their hands dirty; on the other hand, it can improve students' teamwork spirit, communication skills and leadership experience.
Classes will start from intro to difficult level, help kids who
don't have experience start, and give challenges to experienced
students.

Arduino Introduction
1.Introduction to microcontrollers and definitions of robots
2. Deploying a development environment
3. Use code examples to learn about sensors and actuatorsArduino Robot Mechanics
1. Assemble
the mechanical part of the Robot.
2. Introduction to IR data transmission and creation of personal communication with the Robot.
Arduino code intro and test several variations on the Robot. Be a programmer!
Engineer robot with polymorph plastic

2. Polymorph plastic prototyping to personalize the Robot.
Jump out of the box － Design thinking practice
Content comes from Stanford d.school. Through lecture of design thinking and then use different practices, exerciese student think of things in different angle.
Engineering Construction Challenge
Participants become teams, and each team is given the same materials and must work together to make a tower. At the end of the exercise,
the team with the tallest tower is the winner. Next, teams are given a chance to discuss teamwork strategies based on their observations
and insights from the first exercise. Finally, teams will be given a certain amount of “currency”. Their job is to use the currency to buy
basic materials and then use the materials to build the tallest possible tower.
Engineering Company Simulation Challenge
Good communication skill is important for students. Participants become teams, and each team splits in half. The two parts of the teams are the design group and the operations group, and they are separated from each other. The design group receives a pattern, and it is their job to communicate the pattern to the operations group, which must make the light-following robot drive in the correct pattern. There is a time limit for the exercise.
Game Design Workshop Part 1
Participants learn about the basics of game design, including the different game formats, game elements, and player types. They use tools to develop their own original games.
Game Design Workshop Part 2
Participants use software to design and share computer games.
Robot obstacle Race
Use the robot made in Eduardo's class, and also the design thinking method, communication skills and team spirit to do the obstable race and also enjoy the ending of the camp!
Alec Walker earned his MBA at Stanford Graduate School of business
after working for Royal Dutch Shell for four years as a technical
product manager and external consultant. He has a chemical
engineering and scientific research background, having worked on
topics including quantum computing and bacteriophage development.
At Stanford, Alec combined studies in design thinking and
entrepreneurship to found his own consulting firm, which has helped
a variety of organizations around the world.
Eduardo earned
his B.S in Telecommunications engineery and his M.S in Industrial
Automation engineery in The Politechnical University of
Catalonia.
Versed researching in Robotics and Power Electronics, reporting and
managing projects in all the stages is in his expertise. He is
currently working towards his PhD on Distributed Renewable
Energies.
He has got more than six years of experience working as PDI teacher
in this University. As a hobbyist, Eduardo is highly involved
in Maker and Hacker environment as a staff member at XinCheJian.
There, he enjoys delivering technologic workshops as educational
facilitator. He created an innovative fintech Spin-off
(www.smartbank.es) and a Startup for Technological education called
TokyLabs (www.tokylabs.com) .
