Personal Biography
Michael Schloh von Bennewitz is a computer scientist with Mozilla L1 commit access specializing in network engineering and mobile platform development. Responsible for research, development, and maintenance of packages in several community software repositories, Michael actively contributes to the Opensource development community. Recent clients include the Tor Project and Michael is a Intel Innovator with the mandate to promote IoT technology.

Workshop Intro

It will be a workshop teaching the utility of connecting embedded computers to sensors and actuators in order to build a real world IoT network. Instead of just talking about the buzzword or considering simulations we use real hardware devices and learn hands on.

The instructor will also teach legacy protocols like HTTP as well as modern IoT relevant ones like MQTT and AMQP. He will provide a number of hardware devices on loan for the duration of the workshop like:

  Tessel2 (with modules)
    FRDM-KL25Z devkit
    FRDM-K64F devkit
    nRF51 BTLE kit
    Live USB drive
    CC2650 SensorTag

  Hour 0.0: Light intro to beacon based IoT computing

  Hour 0.5: Playing secret knock on the FRDM-KL25Z
  Hour 1.0: Moving to JavaScript with the Tessel2
  Hour 2.0: IoT messaging with Raspberry and Beaglebones
  Hour 3.0: Challenging ourselves with Ethernet based FRDM-K64F

该工作坊会教授Utility，来把内置的计算机，传感器和执行器连接，以建立真正的物联网。和单纯的理论课不同，我们会用大家都有的设备，动手做出物联网。老师也会教HTTP，MQTT和AMQP。一下是他会提供的工具；
